Faith had dropped the needle that she was going to inject into herself so that they could drug Angelus and get him back to the Hyperion. She couldn’t see where she had dropped, she was still very shaky from the last fight she had with the soulless vampire. She might have Slayer healing but it wasn’t good for her body to get beaten up by the same vampire or demon twice in two days. Especially with the beating that Angelus had given her. She couldn’t let Wesley or the others down, they were depending on her. But she was in so much pain and she couldn’t find the damn needle. She finally spotted it and was about to grab it when Angelus snuck up behind her. He grabbed her at the waist and pulled her up against him. Faith was disgusted by the feel of his erection but at the same time she wasn’t overly surprised about it.
“Come on, Faith, you’re not even trying. Or is that why you really came back, huh? Not enough to punish yourself in prison? Is that it? Still looking for someone to beat the bad out of you? You know what the funny part is, darling? I could beat you to death, and it wouldn’t make a difference. Nothing will ever change who you are, Faith. You’re a murder, an animal, and you enjoy it. Just like me.” Angelus taunts her with his words before shoving her visciously against the wall.
“No! You’re wrong. I’m different now. I’m not like you.” Faith turns around and throws a punch at Angelus. Angelus merely deflects the punch and kicks her down. He grabs Faith by the hair and drags her closer to him. When she tries to get up again, he merely punches her in the face, stunning her.
“You will be.” Angelus gloats as he vamps out and bites her neck.
The last thing that Faith thinks of as she slowly loses consciousness from the lack of blood is that if she hadn’t dropped the needle things would be different. She whimpers as she loses consciousness, still trying to fight against him. Angelus chuckles as he feels her slowly dying. He has other plans for her though, he pulls away from her neck and bites his wrist and pushes it up against her lips. Even in her unconscious state Faith attempts to resist him but her body’s instincts jump at the chance at life, and eventually her mouth opens and starts to drink in his blood. He grins and knows that she will make a beautiful consort. He carries her limp and lifeless body into his car, and goes back into the building. He knows that she’s going to wake up hungry and decides that her first meal should be her Watcher, the one who failed her so many times. He picks up the unconscious Wesley and carries him to the car. He ties him up with some rope that was in the trunk and tosses the bound form into the back seat. He gets behind the wheel and decides that L.A. isn’t as fun as he thought it would be. But he knows of a place that would be perfect for both him and his new consort and what a better place to get revenge: Sunnydale. They both have grudges against the blonde Slayer who lives there, and Angelus is pretty sure that no one was smart enough in L.A. to call in Willow, and he wants to make sure that the only person who can actually restore the soul is not able to anymore. He looks over at Faith and thinks that he might just turn Willow to, give his Slayer a little witch to play with when he’s busy torturing Buffy and Spike, and the others.
