Drusilla wasn't quite sure why she had come back to Sunnydale, she
knew that Spike had been here quite recently, but she had wanted to
come back. She decided that since she was back in Sunnydale, such an
awful place with the Slayer living in town, that she would find her
dark haired boy that she had wanted so much on that one night shortly
after Angelus had come home.

Xander hated being on food patrol, and it seemed lately that
getting food was what everyone seemed to think he was capable of.
Sure, he knew that he wasn't as good at research as Willow was, nor
did he have the knowledge that Giles had from years of being a
Watcher, nor did he have the brute strength that Angel and Buffy had,
but he had more ability than just getting donuts. He was annoyed at
the fact that Oz was never sent out to get snacks for the gang, sure
he was a werewolf, but that was only for three nights a month. Then
the rest of the month, what did he have? Besides an ability to smell
Willow from distances, Xander couldn't see Oz as having much talent.
If they ever came up against a demon that could only be defeated by
musical talent, sure Oz would come in handy. Nothing seemed to be
going good in Xander's world as of late, not only had he realized how
much he actually felt for Willow, but it had come a little too late,
and then the two had been caught kissing after having been kidnapped
by Spike. One would think that Cordelia would have at least tried to
let him apologize but unlike Oz, Cordelia refused to even talk to
Xander. So now Xander had nothing, no girlfriend, a distant best
friend, and he got to watch Willow and Buffy go all mushy around
their boyfriends. And, of course, he was stuck getting the snack
food. Like it would kill Dead Boy to get donuts for the gang every
now and then.
Xander was so deep in his thoughts while he was walking back
from the donut shop that he didn't notice that he was being followed.
He was crossing through the park to get back to the high school when
he heard the twig break behind him. Xander turned quickly, "Who's
there?"
"It's just me." Drusilla said from behind him.
"Drusilla…err.. what do you want?" Xander asked the vampire.
"Well, the last time I saw you, you got away from me, because of that
nasty girl. And that was very rude."
"Nasty girl? You mean Cordy. Well, you did want to bite me." Xander
stated, before realizing his mistake of mentioning biting to a
vampire. "Not that you would want to do that now, right?"
"Why shouldn't I, pretty boy? Eternal life is a very nice thing to be
offered. Don't you want to live forever?"
"And have my friends trying to kill me? Thanks but I will pass."
Xander started slowing backing away from Drusilla who had vamped.
"But that's the thing, you don't really have a choice. Now be a good
boy and come to Drusilla, and I will make sure that this won't hurt."
The vampire promised.
"But I really don't want to live forever, not that I am not flattered
that you offered, but it's just that Buffy and my friends would all
kill me. And that wouldn't be eternal life now would it?" Xander
tried reasoning with Drusilla.
"We will leave here, or you could always kill the Slayer. They aren't
that hard to kill, and after all you would know her weaknesses."
"Well, as nice as that sounds. It still doesn't sound too pleasant,
after all Angel would have to kill me if I managed to kill the Slayer
and that wouldn't be too fun. Now would it?"
"Hmm… you're being a naughty boy mentioning Angel to me. Now I am
going to make it painful." Drusilla moved towards Xander and grabbed
hold of him.
"Wait!" Xander cried, just as Drusilla was about to bite him.
"What now, naughty little boy, you're making me very mad."
"Well…err… uhm… how about I make a deal with you?" Xander looked
around nervously for anything that he could use as a stake.
"A deal?"
"Yeah a deal, if I give you one of these donuts and you like it, you
don't kill me." Xander asked the vampire, since he couldn't find
anything to use as a stake.
"A donut? Don't you know vampires only like blood?" Drusilla laughed.
"Well how do you know you only like blood? Have you tried a donut?
They are very good."
"Fine, but just remember if I don't like them I get to bite you,
silly boy."
"Uhm sure, I guess so. But I am pretty sure you will like them. Try a
jelly one. They are the best." Xander offered the box of donuts to
Drusilla.
Drusilla took the donut that Xander offered and gingerly bit into it.
She squealed with delight when the jelly squirted out, "It bleeds,
yummy."
"Yeah, I guess they do. Would you like another?" Xander asked the
vampire as she was finishing the first donut.
"Oh yes, do you have another one of these bleeding ones?"
"Sure, I have about three of them. Help yourself."
Xander watched as Drusilla demolished all of the jelly donuts, each
time the jelly squirted she would squeal in delight, and when she was
finished she would clap her hands and ask for the next one. When he
had offered the donut to Drusilla he had never thought that she would
actually like it. He had only been trying to stall for more time. But
here he was sitting on the grass in the park, watching a vampire
eating jelly donuts, squealing in delight because they
were "bleeding."
"They're all gone. No more bleeding donuts. What is this one?"
Drusilla asked, pointing at the chocolate covered donut.
"It's a chocolate donut. Chocolate is very yummy. How about you try
it?"
"Ok." Drusilla picked out the chocolate donut and bit into it.
"Mmmm, not as yummy as blood but very nice. It's sweet and dark. I
like it." Drusilla said as she continued eating the donut.
Drusilla ended up eating all of the twelve donuts that Xander had
bought from the store. Xander couldn't help but notice that she was
like a little kid as she was eating the sugary confections; she would
clap her hands in delight when she was picking the next donut to eat,
and then squeal if she really liked the donut. If she didn't she
would make a face and spit out the offending piece of donut, which
happened twice. But on a whole she liked the donuts, and was sad when
the box was empty. Xander had never seen anyone eat all twelve donuts
as fast as Drusilla had, even he hate them slower, but the vampire
had started eating them and had gobbled them all down.
"They were very good."
"So we have a deal?" Xander asked.
"I guess so, but just because I didn't make you a vampire tonight
doesn't mean that I won't try again."
"Drusilla what are you doing in Sunnydale?" Angel asked as he stepped
out of the shadows. Drusilla hissed at her sire and stood up.
"I was just trying donuts, nasty little soul boy. I am leaving now.
But I will be back for him eventually." Drusilla pointed at Xander
when she said the last bit. And then turned around and started to
leave.
"If I catch you in Sunnydale again, Drusilla I will kill you." Angel
told her.
"Oh no you won't Sire. You don't want to kill me. And I won't give
you any reason to." Drusilla said before vanishing in the night.
"What is going on here?" Angel asked Xander.
"Well Dead Boy, lets see, I was getting donuts and then Drusilla
decided she just had to try them. What was I to do? Say no? I don't
think so."
"Somehow I think there was more to this than what you're telling me.
But we had better get some more donuts before returning to the
library." Angel replied.
"What were you doing out anyhow?"
"Buffy asked me to check up on you since you were taking such a long
time."
"I can take care of myself."
"Really?" Angel asked.
"Yeah there's more to the Xan-man than meets the eye. After all,
Drusilla didn't kill me, did she? She could of you know. But I took
care of the situation."
"Sure Xander, but that was the second time this year you've been
captured by a vampire. And don't think Drusilla would have not tried
killing you." Angel said, as the two started walking to the donut
shop. Angel was still unable to believe the site of his childe eating
donuts, and the look of pleasure on her face as she had eaten them.
He decided that when they got the donuts back to the library he was
going to have to try a jelly donut, after all they bled, and Drusilla
had taken such delight in it.
